Redoing The Studio

The new flat file created a monster.  Seriously…

Once it arrived, I realized my studio was full of cheap pressboard furniture I’ve had for 10 years and 3 moves (2 across 2 states). All were getting pretty wonky and unstable.

They also felt very sterile and boring.
There’s also a gas fireplace in the studio that we never use, so for ages I’ve been piling random furniture on the hearth to hide it, and it always looked really strange. Worse, it was covering up a genuinely unique real wood mantel that is handcrafted.

So I went back on Marketplace and found few new pieces of furniture at seriously awesome prices and redid the whole studio. I even traded my old desk for the new sideboard that now lives in front of the fireplace and fits up on the hearth perfectly.

The black desk is solid wood and looks to be very vintage. It has drawers and storage on both sides. You can sit on either side of it – it was made for 2 people (at times I feel like 5 people). The dresser is a refurbished antique. The purple small couch was only $40! Wren friend loves it. It feels so much less sterile.
