Paint The Walls With Birds

It’s funny to own a home and still treat it like a rental in so many ways. Of course, the crazy amount of holes we have in the house from all the artwork we collect is wild, but things like painting a bird on the wall made me feel like if I did it, I might get slapped on the hand like a child. I have no worldly idea where that came from, but as I changed the studio to feel more warm, I realized it was time to start painting murals on the walls, even if they were small.

Maybe it’s some leftover rule from childhood, some invisible landlord living in my head telling me the walls aren’t really mine to play with. If you knew how old I was, these types of thoughts would seem even more silly than they are!

This is my house, my studio, my weird little kingdom. So the bird happend and so many more birds will happen!

I think this is the same lesson as the sketchbook creatures. Just do it for the joy!

If you do not follow my home and studio you can follow it on Instagram @carnivaloperahouse I also have a page on this site with a ton of studio images and house images over the last few years.
