Portrait Project

Since 2005, I could not touch “real/tactile” mediums due to being severely allergic to the point of hospitalization. Recently receiving a diagnosis and treatment has given me the ability to use colored pencils/watercolor without incident! The Portrait Project born (2020-2021). All paintings were given for free to the subject.

Print Making

In printmaking I’ve focused on animals and flowers as my subject. I love carving into a plate, rolling the ink, and pressing it onto paper – the anticipation.

Color Studies

During quarantine, I created an online project where the community did studies based on the colors of. therainbow with objects from their home.

For this collection, I’ve explored clay and other mediums to craft these animal sculptures, bringing my long-held aspirations to tangible life.

An Epidemic of Retrospective is a compilation of writings and artwork collected from individuals sharing their experiences and what they have learned from the very beginning until now on their journey as an artist.

Letter from The Curator
“An Epidemic of Retrospective: Words That Change Us” is an art and writing book project I was honored to curated a few years back, however, it was never completed. The time never seemed quite right. As I sit here today in 2020, with everyone’s life transpiring at a state of flux and uncertainty, this book project beckoned to me for completion. The poignant words crafted from artists to their younger self, their beautifully featured artwork, and the book title which ironically was assigned to the book back in 2015; seemed urgent and relevant. I am overjoyed to share this collection of writings and artwork – even as time has passed since the original incantation of this project, the collection seems timeless.

Obvious Remote Chaos

Life seems unreal and lost to what truth knows. While peering out our window of preference, typically our visions show time passing by with a quick swift force bringing the world’s uncontrolled happenings full-frontal, and yet most don’t realize they are part of this constantly unfolding remarkable show. Participation is chosen, but the greater part of the population stands on the sidelines dreaming or sleeping their show away. Parts of life, people and places eventually go missing, and the feeling of abandonment of life takes over the original idea to participate. With key players now removed, their world gently fades into the shadows, and the window fogs preventing new visions or hopes. Looking back a few years my world was severely misplaced and intentionally out of focus. The fog was so thick that trying to look through the window me brought constant headaches, and any visions I was lucky enough to receive did nothing but rest poorly in my psyche. Sometimes those unforgettable thoughts can bring about some overpowering means to creativity, so I give you this book.
