Biography

Aunia Marie Kahn (B. 1977 Detroit, Michigan) is an award-winning and collected American contemporary painter, collector and gallerist.

Her work is a harmonious fusion of evocative characters surrounded by a tapestry of intricate worlds. Kahn’s home, clothing, and surroundings, rich in color, vibrant patterns, and textures, brim with an abundance of plants, creates a sanctuary of inspiration for her paintings. This vibrant environment serves as a profound muse, deeply influencing her creative process.

She has exhibited her artwork in over 300+ exhibitions in 10 countries and at institutions such as SDAI, iMOCA, and CAM St. Louis. Additionally, she has lectured at colleges and universities and has been featured in Yahoo, Prevention, and Authority Magazine. She has also held roles as both a gallerist and curator for internationally recognized books and projects.

She is the author, artist and curator on various book and deck projects. (View all Books & Decks). She is also the owner of Rise Visible (25+ years), a web design, SEO, and digital marketing agency. and is the owner of the Poetic Tiger Gallery.

Artist Statement

My art springs from a deep longing to connect with a world where my presence has been limited. Creativity became my lifeline during two decades of battling an undiagnosed illness. Now, my work reflects a narrative of personal evolution and gratitude for being alive. Rooted in symbolism, through vibrant colors and living beings, it embodies a journey of rebirth and self-discovery.
