FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Many Q&A are now posted at AuniaKahn on FormSprings.
Q's can be asked on the site without signing and can asked be anonymously.

Q. Who is the model in your work?
A. It is me.

Q. I am a model and would love to model in your work. How can I do this?
A. Right now I don't use models in my personal work. All the work is done using myself because it helps me stay close and personal to my work. Although when I do have time I do commissions. If interested in commission work please email me to check my availability.

Q. I love your work, I have a question. I want to be a successful artist can you give me some pointers? How can I get in to galleries and publications? I am an artist and I can’t get exposure, could you help me?
A. All those questions were placed under one section because I have written a few articles in my blog about these matters. They are a bit moody and passionate, but they give some great pointers if you want to be successful. The three useful articles are: I love your work I have a Question, Submitting Art to Shows: A Blog About Etiquette, and A Word About Promotion.

Q. Where are you from?
A. I was born in Michigan, in a small suburb. We lived surrounded by cornfields, and wooded areas. I spent most of my days outside, then coming home at night with bumps and bruises for my mother to tend to. I was a tomboy. When I was 23 I moved to Illinois, and I still reside here in a little house on a hill with my 4 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats.

Q. Can I have one of your pieces of artwork tattooed on me?
A. Yes! Please email me a picture. Thank you.

Q. What got you interested in doing art professionally, or personally?
A. That is a long story which is partially explained in my biography, but you can find other useful explanations in my press section where I have a bunch of interviews where I talk more in depth about my passions and art.

Q. Did you go to art school?
A. Art School and the Artist in an article that I wrote which talks about this exact question, and how I feel.

Q. I emailed you a long while ago, but you never responded.
A. I would love to be able to email back everyone that emails me, but that is not possible at this stage in my career. I do read everything that is sent to me, and appreciate them. Not only do I create art, I run a small design business, but I am involved in many projects, publishing a few books, have a very heavy exhibition schedule, and when I have spare time I try to spend good time with my puppies and kitties, and relax. Thank you for the wonderful mail! You can also check my press section for any information you might be looking for.
